The island of Ile aux Cerfs, which lies off the Trou d’Eau Douce which is on the east coast of Mauritius, is situated in the largest lagoon in the island of Mauritius. It is spread over a vast area of 87 hectares.
You can get to Ile aux Cerfs from various points in the east coast of Mauritius. You can get there either by a boat, a catamaran or a yacht. The deals start for as low as Rs 800 by boat which includes lunch and drinks. You can further take boat rides to the smaller islands around. The catamarans for the island head out from Blue Bay or Trou d'Eau Douce. You can also get there by a pirate ship which is a 34-foot long boat which is a replica of a real pirate boat.
There are tons of activities to be enjoyed on the island including water sports, snorkelling, banana and glass bottom boats. There are many restaurants including a 5-star resort which has an 18-hole golf course. Of course, if none of these appeals to you, you could just grab your sun mattress and relax on the beach all day.
