Day 1: Ubud – Tanah Lot temple, Denpasar city tour
Tanah Lot is an absolutely gorgeous Hindu temple jutting out into the sea giving this shrine an amphibious feel. The waves keep crashing into the temple structure, it feels like the Gods are at war with nature but the only winner here is you!
Next, we headed to the Denpasar city tour, which was an hour’s drive. The main features of this tour are visits to the Museum of Denpasar, the central market where a large variety of local products and handicraft are on display. Visit to government art center is also included.
Day 2: Ubud - Kintamani tour, Ubud art & handicraft tour
Started with a visit to the magnificent Mount and lake Batur with the smoky agung volcano in the background. On the way back, we stopped at various art shops which Celuk the centre of gold and silver works, Mas the centre of wood carvings, Ubud the centre of Balinese paintings.
We also visited the Goa Gajah (elephant cave) and the holy springs of Tirta Empul at Tampaksiring. We also drove past the rice terraces which is a lovely site with the lush green among the systematic terraces and their levels. We enjoyed the beautiful panorama of the valley with rice terrace and coconut trees ornament it.
Later in the day, you can head to Kuta
Day 3: Kuta
Kuta is Bali’s most popular beach and it’s not a surprise at all. The 2.5km white sand stretch is great for lazing around, surfing or wave riding. The waters are warm and friendly and if you are feeling exceptionally lazy while lying on your sarong on the beach, you could get a cheap beach massage.
Kuta is also a great place for shopping with the beach walking street lined with shops with all kind of wares – a great place to pick up your souvenirs. And of course, being the party place that it is there are multitudes of options available as far as eating out and partying are concerned.
Day 4: The end of our 4-day itinerary to Bali
Thankfully, Kuta is not very far from the Ngurah Rai airport which means convenient flight timing might let you a nice early morning stroll on the beach followed by a relaxing Balinese massage. Get back home refreshed and rejuvenated!
